Office hours, during the school year, are 7:30 to 3:00 on school days.
To Report a Child's Absence
All absences are reported to the Office.
Telephone the school's 24 hours attendance line at (613) 748-0060 and press "1" to record a message if your child will be absent.
Please do not place absence messages in the teacher's voice mail. The teacher does not expect this type of message and may not check the mail until later in the day.
Similarly, please do not report an absence via e-mail. All e-mail accounts are personal and the recipient may not be in the school to take note of the absence.
In the event of a snowday
If buses/vans are cancelled, PARENTS OF WALKING STUDENTS MUST call in their absences. Please call 613-748-0060
Parents of bused students do not have to call in their absences as it is assumed that they will stay home.
In the event of a major snow or ice storm, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board will ask the following radio or television stations to announce bus cancellations by 6:15 a.m.:
- CFRA 580 News
- KOOL FM 54.9
- The Bear 106.9
- Chez FM 106.1
- Majic 100.3 FM
- CHRI FM 99.1
- CBC Radio 91.5 FM
- A-Channel (www.achannel.ca)
This information will also be available on the Transportation website: www.ottawaschoolbus.ca or on the OCDSB iPhone App.
When buses/vans are cancelled in the morning, schools remain open. However, buses/vans are cancelled the entire day. If you choose to bring your child to school, please be aware that you will need to return to pick them up at 2:30 p.m. Please send your child with a lunch as all food programs are cancelled when transportation is cancelled.
Use voice mail when you wish to leave a private message for any staff member.
Direct all urgent messages to the office staff and try not to leave voice mail when a message is urgent.
Do not leave a time sensitive message in a voice mailbox. The staff member may be out of the school and not retrieve the message in time (e.g. a call to advise us of different pick-up arrangements on a particular day).
