Welcome Henry Munro lions!! We’re looking forward to a great school year and can’t wait to see each of you.
Here is some key information for the start of school at Henry Munro:
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024.
- Supervision will begin at 7:45 am. Classes begin at 8:00 am.
How are you getting to school?
- Bus: please be sure to check the OSTA website to make sure you have the correct information for your child’s bus and stop. The website is: www.ottawaschoolbus.ca
- Walking: Students can come to the front or the back of the building.
- Car: if you are planning to drive your child to school, note that the bus loop on school property is open to school transportation only. For safety reasons, please do not drop your child off on Kender Avenue. Alternatives are:
- Ingram Crescent, Radford Ct, Tisdale Crescent, Annunciation of the Lord church parking lot (on Ogilvie road). As our students will meet in the backyard, and Kender Avenue is busy with school transportation, it is best to avoid Kender Avenue altogether.
- After the bus loop is cleared (after 7:55), parents can drop students off in front of the school, using the loop.
- Bike: if you are cycling to school, please get off your bike once you arrive on school property. Bike racks are located at the front of the building.
Parents and guardians:
- Thank you for working with us to ensure that our students arrive at school safely. We ask that when you arrive, that you remain off school property. Our staff will be there to greet students and help them find their way.
What should you bring to school on the first day?
- Be dressed for learning and have appropriate footwear for Physical Education.
- Bring a water bottle and nutritious lunch.
- You can bring a few school supplies if you wish, but we have everything you need, so you are not obligated to.
